MODEL ITINERARY

Basically Komorian is being operated consecutive stay basis.
Therefore, 1 night stays are available only on some particular dates.
Luggage delivery to the next accommodation costs extra.

There are 2 model itineraries depending on if you would like to walk “Takijiri – Takahara ” section on the check in day.

Itinerary A :
suitable for beginner or average hikers

D1 [Takijiri → Takahara]

D2 [Takahara → Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura]

A is very moderate itinerary and suitable for those who would like to walk “Takijiri to Takahara” section on the check-in day. “Takijiri to Takahara” is short cource that only take 2-3 hours, perfect for the warming up.
In this itinerary, guests are supposed to stay 1 nights at Komorian and then stay overnight at any inn you book in Chikatsuyu or Nonaka Area on the next day.

DAY 1 -Check in day-
Walk [Takijiri → Takahara]
Walking time: 2 to 3 hours
Feature of this section: Steep uphill on the first half

<Rough Schedule>
Have lunch around Kii-Tanabe sta,
12:50 Take local bus at Kii-Tanabe sta (with luggage if any),
13:28 Get off at Takijiri and deposit luggage to us,
13:30 Start walking to Takahara,
16:00 Arrive at “Takahara rest area”,
16:00 Collected by us,
16:15 Check in and stay at Komorian 🏠.

DAY 2
Walk [Takahara → Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura]
Walking time: 6 to 8 hours
Feature of this section: partially uphill, however last half of the route is paved and flat.

<Rough Schedule>
09:00 Shuttled to the Takahara rest area,
09:00 Start walking to Tsugizakura oji,
12:00 Have lunch at a restaurant on the trail,
15:30 Arrive at Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura area,
15:30 Check in the reserved accommodation in the area.
(※Luggage will be waiting for you at the guesthouse.)


Itinerary B :
suitable for average or well trained hikers

D1 [No walk]

D2 [Takijiri → Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura]

B is kind of challenging itinerary and suitable for those who would like to walk “Takijiri to Chikatsuyu” section within one day.
In this itinerary, guests are supposed to stay 1 nights at Komorian and then stay overnight at any inn you book in Chikatsuyu or Nonaka Area on the next day. This itinerary is not easy for beginners, however, worth to try.

DAY 1 -Check in day-
Walk [No walk]
Walking time: 0

<Rough Schedule>
Arrive at Kii-Tanabe sta,
14:50 Take local bus at Kii-Tanabe sta with luggage,
15:28 Get off at Takijiri and collected by us,
15:40 Check in and stay at Komorian 🏠.

DAY 2
Walk [Takijiri → Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura]
Walking time: 7 to 9 hours

<Rough Schedule>
08:00 Shuttled to the Takijiri oji,
08:00 Start walking,
12:00 Have Komorian lunch box on the trail,
15:30 Arrive at Chikatsuyu/Tsugizakura area,
15:30 Check in the reserved accommodation in the area.
(※Luggage will be waiting for you at the guesthouse.)

If needed, please let us know as soon as your detailed itinerary is decided. The information we need to arrange is

  2. The reservation name that is used to book the inn
  3. The date of check-in of the inn
  4. The channel your group used to book the inn (Booking.com? Airbnb? Kumano-travel?)
  5. Number of baggage (you can add on site, as needed)
